Hello church family:
I wanted to let you know about a very important way that you can get involved in ministry at Calvary Heights Baptist Church. On Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 6:30pm, our church will be hosting a Packing Party for the Operation Christmas Child program. Operation Christmas Child is a ministry of Franklin Graham’s organization, Samaritan’s Purse, that has ministered to 100 million needy children around the world in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. As a part of this program, our church will be packing shoeboxes full of gifts that will be distributed to children around the world through Samaritan’s Purse.
Here’s how you can help:
1. Gather any unused shoeboxes from your closet and bring them to Calvary Heights prior to November 19, 2014.
2. Purchase plenty of gifts for boys and girls that can be used to fill these shoeboxes. Drop them off at Calvary Heights prior to November 19, 2014. For gift suggestions, see the Operation Christmas Child website at http://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/pack-a-shoe-box/
3. Consider sponsoring one or more shoeboxes. The cost of shipping is $7 per each box. You’ll actually be able to track the progress of your sponsored box online as it get delivered. If you’d like to make a donation to sponsor one or more shoeboxes, bring your donation to Calvary Heights prior to November 19, 2014.
4. Come out to Calvary Heights on November 19, 2014 at 6:30pm as we gather to pack and pray over shoeboxes to be distributed. Be sure to bring a friend or two to join in this important ministry. There will be free pizza and snacks for everyone who comes to help.
Our church’s goal is to send 100 shoeboxes overseas!!!! Please help us accomplish this very important mission for the Lord!
